Founded in 2017 by Anita and Hendrik, two friends and bad weather experts, Maium is an Amsterdam-based label that blends tech wear and fashion with innovative design. Inspired by years of wet bike commutes, the duo behind the Dutch brand set out to design rainwear that adapts to unpredictable weather conditions and a busy lifestyle.
At the core of their gender neutral wet weather gear is Maium's commitment to sustainable design practices: all of the brand's pieces are made of recycled PET-bottles, resulting in a range of waterproof raincoats, trenches, lightweight puffer jackets and versatile parkas that are not only practical but also stylish. While the brand turned more than one million plastic bottles into raincoats in 2021, Maium is expecting to grow to a level where it will be able to recycle more than five million PET-bottles each year.
Designed for the outdoors, all their products are waterproof, 100% vegan and OEKO-TEX(R) Standard 100-certified and therefore free of any harmful substances. Known for their excellence in production of outerwear, Maium's designs are manufactured in audited factories in the Hebei province in China under fair, safe and healthy working conditions.
